Tampa paralegal Nita Serrano has been elected to serve as NALA – The Paralegal Association’s Affiliated Associations Director for 2026-27.

Serrano, a Florida Registered Paralegal and NALA Advanced Certified Paralegal in Trial Practice, was elected by NALA Affiliated Associations to represent their interests and perspectives on the national organization’s board of directors.

“I am honored and excited to have been elected NALA’s Affiliated Associations Director,” Serrano said. “I am committed to fostering open communication, collaboration, and innovation among our affiliated associations.”

Serrano is a freelance litigation paralegal in Tampa, where she focuses on civil litigation, general casualty, personal injury, family law, and medical malpractice. A Florida native, she earned an associate degree in paralegal studies from Florida Metropolitan University.

Serrano and the other members of the NALA Board of Directors were installed during the organization’s annual conference and expo, held July 16-18 in Denver.

Founded in 1975, NALA represents more than 17,000 paralegals through individual membership and affiliated associations. The nonprofit organization provides continuing education, professional certification, and professional development programs for paralegals.
